Group Damel pioneer in the food industry for its commitment in obtaining thermal energy friendly to the environment.

Group celebrates Damel elapsed since he signed a groundbreaking agreement for the food industry Spanish confectionery company Eona Biomass year: thermal energy obtained by installing a biomass boiler. An efficient and respectful to the environment to make possible the production process.

The boiler was installed at its plant in Crevillente – Alicante – wherein the manufacturing process takes place as known products as “Palotes”, “Pectol”, “Twisted” and other confectionery products. In just one year, the 100% of thermal energy consumed by the plant has been obtained by this method.

A year in operation and the group welcomes the excellent results achieved with this initiative, destacanto especially its contribution to the fight against climate change by reducing the environmental impact, as well as employment and regional development. All this with a clear improvement in competitiveness.

In this manner, Group Damel can say categorically that in his plant confiteríase reduced dependence on fossil fuel, using wood that enhances the economy of rural areas of our country, and thus becoming an example of ecological sustainability for food confectionery industry. The implementation of this system, certified by BRC, IFS and GMP food indrustria already obtained in this plant years ago, follows the strategic line taken from the Damel Group to ensure quality products, with maximum safety for the consumer and environmentally friendly.
