The campsite Arena Blanca Benidorm (Alicante) is one of the first on the Mediterranean coast to say goodbye to a oil boiler and replace it with biomass to produce hot water, unheated and heated pool 50 bungalows.

Only 22 site of the nearly 1.500 that exist in Spain have the Q tourist quality seal awarded by the Spanish Institute for Quality Tourism. One of them has the campsite Arena Blanca Benidorm, has taken an important step to reaffirm their commitment to quality, sustainability via, with the replacement of an old oil-fired boiler 60 otherwise kW biomass 100 kW for domestic hot water, air conditioning and pool heating 50 bungalows.

The boiler is an Austrian Fröling Turbomatic distributed by Nova Energy Group and installed by Eona Biomass, Santa Pola company more linked to biogas, but working on offering services for the treatment and utilization of all types of organic waste. With this installation demonstrates that biomass boilers cover much more than the need for heat in cold climates and are compatible with other services in warmer places.

The biofuel will be used mainly chips and pellets from agricultural waste and garden, and be suminstrados by Eona Biomass. The owners of the site acknowledge that the main reason for the change has been a constant rise in fossil fuel, plus the commitment to renewable energy, energy savings, sustainability and respect for the environment.
